Who are you? I know things on you. I know that you look at my site. You remain a certain time there. I know that you are on your premise. I can almost see you. To pass from the one of you to another. See the country. Your country. To pass from a continent to the other. And to see you. See almost. YSe as far as you see me on my site. We do not know each other. I know that you are there. You know it too.

The work presents an interface that allows participants to create virtual organisms, called ‘mitozoos’, essentially encoding their DNA, and then witness the evolution of those organisms in a simulated, biological universe. These mitozoos live, reproduce and die, in a system which allows their genetic code to carry on and even mutate, generation after generation. In Mitozoos, genetic information is displayed as a series of color codes, designed taking into account the actual chemical basis of DNA.

an audiovisual representation of word frequencies in spam email messages.

Spam, the digital garbage of our era, has become a mirror reflecting both our natural human necessities and the artificial necessities that the advertisement industry constantly attempts to stimulate in us. The individual who’s experiencing Spam, also acts as the main influencing factor over its content and behavior. Spam differs from any other kind of man-made trash; while garbage may reflect the individual’s lifestyle and needs, Spam works the other way around: it reflects the way in which the individual is seen in the digital world through an everlasting process of classification; The manner in which one “behaves” in the digital world may predict the kind of Spam that will arrive in his Email, and vice-versa, one’s Spam may imply his specific preferences, interests and perhaps factors in his personality.

Spamology is a part of ongoing research which aims at visualizing the links and interrelationships between the nature of Spam as a digital-cultural phenomenon, the user/individual and the society, by revealing patterns in Spam which may reflect cultural and social trends, behaviors and variations.

Spamology is an audiovisual representation of word frequencies in spam e-mail messages.
the visualization is based on analysis of a private archive of spam messages which were collected during 10 years (1998-2007),
containing up to 2,000,000 emails originated from various parts of the world.

Qubo Gas (Laura Henno, Jean-François Ablézot, Morgan Dimnet) is a French collective of artists active since 2000. Their practice, involving works on paper, collages, video installations, digital animations and frescos, primarily focuses on drawing, its techniques and its history.

Watercouleur Park is an interactive graphic composition made of layers of drawings. The order in which the drawn landscapes appear is random. The vegetation contained in each of the landscapes is also a random element. There are 14 landscapes in total, drawn dynamically from an updatable database of drawings.

The project allows users to explore a virtual archive of collage work; with the ability to modify, rotate and change point of view.

The new work references previous works in collage and fresco. One step further from the tactility of the frescos, Watercouleur Park induces a virtual, sensorial experience of spatial immersion.

This contemplative work is launched in conjunction with Uki-yo, 2004, another digital landscape shown as a video installation in London from 3 March – 12 May 2007, at the occasion of the exhibition Momentary Momentum at Parasol Unit, London.
